zika virus, a treat for travellers

what is zika ?

dengue also known by the cringe worthy descriptor break bone fever is cause by one of four related strains of the virus, which can be transmitted to a human through the bite of an infected mosquito

only about a quoter of those infected experience symptoms, but they can be nasty high fever severe headache and eye pain, joint and muscle and or bone pain and a rash.

thats because the virus can cause dengue hemmorhagic fever, a sever and potentially deadly disease that can occur when a person is infected with one strain of dengue then subsequent exposed to a second train

a vaccine to protect against dengue has recently developed, but in clinical trials its been shown to be only about 60 percent effective, the seasonal influenza vaccine has about the same efficacy-and has not yet approved by regulators

yellow fever which initially cause such as fever, headache and muscle aches, can in some people enter a potentially fatal toxic phase marked by yellowing of the skin and eyes, abdominal pain, and vomitting, bleeding from the nose, outh and eyes liver and kidney failure and delirium, seizures, and eventually coma.

PREVENTION:

always carry bed nets. and mosquito repellents  and also yellow vaccine are vital to fight for this fatal sickness and virus. Esp to the pregnant woman , it affects your child if you will not prevent yourself from the mosquito bites.

it can also get a very bad case of flu. which are common same as in dengue fever but you can get used over it.
